A Unique Place, a Unique Oyster

Cranberry Oysters are grown 3 miles offshore in a shallow inlet on Great Cranberry Island known as “The Pool.” The mountains of Acadia National Park, the rocky island coastline, the salt marsh grass, and ripping tides provide the backdrop for this small farm. Grown in cold, offshore water between islands steeped in lobster-fishing tradition, Cranberry Oysters are as rugged and clean as the environment they are grown in.

Cold Water, Big Tides

Cold, clean northern water is as good for lobsters as it is for oysters—our ideal flavor profile comes from our distinct environment: the fresh, pristine, waters surrounding the Cranberry Isles. Powerful current runs through the shallow, uniquely formed inlet on Great Cranberry Island where these oysters are grown—flooding and ebbing up to 12-foot tides twice per day.
